Big hair Anyone?

If you know me well, you will know I am HORRIBLE with passwords (oops), I have not been able to get in to blog for almost 2 months. There have been some good things going on.... Pity!! We will have to play catch up later. For now lets get on to bigger and better things..

CURLY HAIR is a different type of hair all together.

You definitely can not treat it the same as you would with straight hair or even wavy hair. The biggest rule to having amazing curly hair is Once it is done for the day DO NOT TOUCH!!!

it will frizz and poof and be horrid the rest of the day.

If you know me, you know I am not model material, my hair IS!!

Lately I have been letting my hair go fro. Awesome right!! I think so, I just put in a little Moroccan oil and let it dry. Then as soon as the water is out I oh dear I am afraid to even say it but....

I run my fingers through my dry hair!!

I know breaking like the BIGGEST rule of curly hair.

I LOVE it!! it is fun to just let loose and have fun, my hair hardly fits into my car on days like this, but let me just say I have never gotten more complements on my hair in one day.

Hair is supposed to be fun. So my challenge to you is to do something you normally would not do.

trying wearing your hair natural, or unnatural, try a braid, or a twist, or all up, or all down

I think you get the idea. Take a couple days and just play with your hair

but PLEASE take one day to GO BIG

Big Hair is SO good, and fun........... I promise!!

Bringing in 2012

I must say this last year has been great. There have been huge mile stones met in my life personally as well as professionally, I am very thankful and very blessed in my life.

That being said I wanted to say THANK YOU to all of my friends and family the last two months have been great with the salon being open!! I have met a ton of new people who I just love and have loved getting to know and I hope that 2012 will bring all good things to all.

Our half off promotion has been AMAZING!! I know a ton of you have loved it. This ends along with 2011 tomorrow. But make sure to keep an eye on the blog for our monthly specials as well as other promotions.

Where have you been all my life....

Who here loves to have beautiful fingernails but hates how the polish chip's off, wears off and doesn't even last 2 days because you are always doing something destructive to the polish with regular everyday living?

I do, I love the fun colors glitter and sparkles you can have with polish, but mine is usually chipping off by the end of the first day! I love having nail extensions, but who has the time and money this time of year to keep up on those?

Let me share with you my newest obsession, Shellac!!! Beautiful polish that actually stays on you nails, it lasts for weeks, stays shiny, doesn't chip off and comes in fun colors. it doesn't damage your natural nail like the extensions do, and it adds just a little bit of strength to your nails........AMAZING!!

Hit and Miss

So I am on day 3 of my hair being straightened.(some may think I am gross......oh well, and please don't mind the no make up, it is one of those days) Here is how things typically go for me when I take the time to straighten out my hair. Day 1: all down, Day 2: Mostly down I usually twist back my fringe, Day 3: All up!!

So I went out of order this week, day 2 was my all up day. So I woke up this morning and didn't know what to do with my hair!! I went down to the salon and put in the Big Sexy Powder Dry Shampoo (don't worry I am a clean day 3er) and looked in the mirror..................I did not see anything good!! My hair was a wreck, so I thought to myself hmmmm who's hair do I want to have today. Light bulb moment Beyonce has HOTT locks right now, that is what I want.

Since I didn't have time for a color, didn't have time for extensions and well didn't have time for much I just tried to get the long flowing soft curl look to work in my not long not flowing hair.........EPIC FAIL!!! I love the look, the soft curls are beautiful and can be worn so many ways in so many different looks. It is just not my look :( I know my style my be a little different, but the soft flowing beautiful look is definitely not for me. I look better with harsh curls, and jagged lines, I may be soft in the mid section but soft isn't a way i would describe anything else about me. I learned today I can not pull of the soft beautiful romantic hair.....

Cocktails...........

How many of us use more than one product in our hair everyday? I know I do, depending on the day and how I am wearing my hair I use gel, heat protector, and a root lifter, not to mention the hairspray to finish it all off.

Weather I am wearing my hair curly or straight I always mix myself up a cocktail of products. This morning I used Ouidad curl quencher styling gel, and Redkin estreme anti-snap (Sometimes your hair needs a little TLC to keep it in line) I put them both in my hot little hand rubbed them together and then applied to my luscious locks. Not only does my hair look and smell amazing today, but I know that my product was even applied so all parts of my head had some good hair love. I finished my look off today with my Ouidad styling mist (smells a little clove like,very nice) and I have soft beautiful curls that won't go frizzy.

So my suggestion to try to cocktail your styling products together, not only will it save you a little time, but it will make things spread more evenly throughout your hair.

When I wear my hair straight the cocktail mix of my choice is: Moroccanoil, with some Scruples silk control blow dry elixir. I rub them together then through my hair concentrating at the roots, so I can have some volume (I like big hair!!) and blow out my locks, finish off with a little Big Sexy powder play for some added volume and spray the whole head down with a little Healthy Sexy soy touchable spray!!

I definitely am a fan of cocktailing my styling products. I love both looks and am always on the hunt for new products that work for me and my clients :) Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions I would love to know about the products you use and love, or used and hate.
